Cape Summer Garden Wedding I Villa Steenhuis, Cape Town I Andrew and Emma

Winter is slowly creeping into Cape Town (boooo!), so we thought, to warm your cold toes and put a smile on your faces, we'd share this sweet Cape garden wedding with you today.

Emma and Andrew got married, under laterns and lights, at the beautiful Villa Steenhuis in Constatia on what must have been one of the most gorgeous summer days Cape Town has ever seen. No wind, a perfect 28 degrees, blue skies, the sweet summery smell of blooms, the taste of Pimm's & lemonade, swing music making it's way through the trees above and an ear-to-ear-smiling couple made this wedding too much fun to document!

We have the ideal weather and we have more space than we know what to do with in South Africa, so why aren't we having more wedding celebrations under the stars? In a field or in a garden, which ever, the atmosphere doesn't get any better.

Be brave, pray that it all comes together and you might just have a wedding as special as Andrew and Emma's.

Karoo Wedding I Abrahamskraal, Prince Albert, Klein Karoo I Wim and Mienke

From the moment Wim and Mienke walked into our studio to chat about their wedding, we knew we had struck gold. The ceremony was held in the cradle of the Swartberg pass with raw mountain rock towering over friends and family as the couple said their vows. The stillness and immensity of the landscape was deep soul stirring stuff!

After the ceremony everyone made their way through the meandering pass and out of town to the quaint Abrahamskraal farm. The sun was low in the dusty Klein Karoo, flowers hung from silhouetted trees and candles were lit as the night stars began to shine, it was party time!

The reception was held on the back veranda of the farmhouse under a Bedouin tent lined with colourful lanterns and fairy lights. Bright flowers and awesome signage dotted the tables as guests popped the champagne and eased themselves into comfortable wooden chairs, a prelude to great speeches and amazing food. As the moon rose and the night rolled on, the dance floor was opened and oh boy, can Wim and Mienke dance! In fact everyone seemed to be having such a great time that when the hour struck, we put down our cameras and boogied the night away too :)
