Actually it is the feminine half of welovepictures being the ultimate team player and jumping in front of the camera - for me. I was desperate to shoot something and so 10 minutes before we were to leave for a friends for dinner i decided it was time and Maike was roped in. I always do things like that. If i get the itch to do something, i have to do it then, even if it means we'll be late for what ever. I put Maike through that a lot. I love her for her endless patience with me.

This one should have been up ages ago. We're sorry Terrick and Bronwyn. Where to begin? Terrick and Bronwyn are really amazing people. God kept the special stuff back, just for them. They know how to laugh and how to really "enjoy". That is a special quality that comes so naturally to them. They gave us such freedom with their wedding and only wanted to have a laugh. welovepictures and the Hubbards - a match made in heaven.

We pitched the idea, of shooting all the guests as Mug-Shots instead of the boring old usual, to super-cool Hennie and Yolande and they LOVED it! So we designed a height indicator as a backdrop, made up a cop-shop board for everyone to hang their neck and packed the RING FLASH, and away we went!

Flashy New Toys

I never used to geek out over cool kit or fancy gadgets but that was long long ago. I don't even know that guy anymore. Today we picked up our new portable flash pack and Ring Flash. For those of you who don't know what that is, here is what someone very clever wrote on the internet about it.

"A circular-shaped electronic flash unit that fits around a lens and provides shadowless, uniform frontal lighting..."

Fancy stuff ? Yes, we agree. After we managed to figure out how it worked we had quite a bit of fun. We thought bokkie our wonder dog would make the ideal guinea pig.

"The Great Catch-Up" Part 4

Michael and Marissa

Travis has known Michael his whole life. Their families have moulded into one huge crazy bunch of English, Irish and Scotsman. This was evident once the reception got swinging. Literally. There were some wonderful highlights for each of us. Travis says it was seeing Michael in a suit, and really pulling it off. For me it was seeing Belle (Michael's super tom-boy niece) in a suite! She was adamant she was gonna wear a suit, "...like the boys..." she said. And Marissa of course looked absolutely gorgeous!

We shot the portraits in a field that felt more like Colorado in the Fall rather than Alberton in Herf's. We moved quickly to get back to the party, fearing it had already begun without us. From then on it was bum-shaking, hands-in-the-air-stuff as the Rolling Stones and Co. carried us deep into the night.
