Wow - what a wedding! I met Seppi years ago when I was in Uni and began to assist him on occasion. He is a super talented photographer, shooting editorial and advertising work. We admire him and his work very much. Enjoy what he does at www.seppihoch.com
It all started with a phone call many months ago that went something like this...
Seppi - " Hey Travis, I'm getting married"
Travis - "Waheeey, awesome"
Seppi "Thanks - I want you to shoot it"
Travis - "Waheeey, awesome"
...telephone conversation ends, Travis turns to Maike...
Travis - "Oh shit"
Maike - "What?"
Travis - "Seppi wants us to shoot his wedding"
Surprised? Don't be. In all honesty there is nothing more frightening for a photographer than to shoot another (very talented and much admired) photographers' wedding. Haha, but we got over the fear and had the time of our lives at their wedding.
Seppi is now married to Leslie who is awesome. She is a stylist. She gave up chilly Canada for sunny South Africa because...well, it's just nicer. :) We love her! We feel like we have been friends forever when we're around her.
There were far too many highlights at this wild wedding so we'll just list them and let you get to the pictures.
- Seppi wore his fathers vintage wedding suit - wool in summer. Crazy.
- The grooms party donned brown leather Converse.
- Leslie's dress was dyed in Rooibos Tea.
- The table numbers were photographs.
- There were flowers in tea cups.
- 3 men stripped down to the Full Monty theme song to reveal silk boxers covered in Canadian flags. Seppi was one of them.
-We ate pasta. Bowls and Bowls of it.
- Seppi and Leslie announced they were pregnant at the reception. Everybody screamed.

Just...to help a brother out
This an unusual post for the welovepictures blog but one we are so flippin happy to make. We recently made the acquaintance of Mr Brett Atherstone - Art Director/Photographer/Designer/Recently Married Man. Talent abounding and a brother in Jesus too, meaning his future is made. Trust us.
We think his work is great, and his desire to learn and work damn hard too are something rare out there in creative circles. Yes, yes, we can be lazy sometimes. Right-brainer's.

" THE WORK "
Brett is Cape Town based but will gladly fly across the country for the right job we're sure. He is available on a freelance basis but seeing as he has a new wife to look after we are sure one of you must have a china in some well paying advertising agency who could hook him up with a permanent position.
A multi-skilled creative, grounded Husband and Jesus loving man - he's a flipping gold mine guys!

City Love Wedding
Lauren and AB
Capitol Theatre, Pta
This must have been one of the most awesomest weddings we ever got to document. Lauren and AB are good friends of ours and we were super excited when they asked us to shoot their wedding. When Lauren told me that they are getting married at the Capitol Theater (Pretoria's legendary old time theatre) AND that she was taking a bus into town instead of a car, I couldn't sleep for nights. Yep, I was a bit worried cause it might be a bit dodgy as town center isn't what it used to be and no one we know really takes the bus anymore... BUT, wow, I was so excited to shoot that! And how cool is it that they got married in the heart of the city in spite of that... because they love the city. Awesome.

They left the old fashioned way which couples don't ever do anymore. Ab is a Beetle drivin' man and with cans tied to the back it was a fitting exit for our two great friends.

"The bride is always fashionably late"
So obviously we got to the bus stop 7 minutes (I know) late and thought we had missed the bus! But Lauren was adamant that we wait. Which made some awesome pictures...

I do say this to all of the brides that I photograph, but I think I'm allowed to be biased in this case and it's safe to say that my awesome friend was quite definitely the most beautiful bride I have ever seen. x
The rest of the day was spent eating Royal Danish Ice Cream and drinking Cola's in Church Square, a lot of bad-a$$ posing on AB's side, lots of funny swedish-afrikaans speeches, good food and awesome dessert, a hilarious photo booth and of course a lot of dancing!

Long Overdue -
Sasha and James,
Kievits Kroon, Pta
When the bride is a Chef you know the food is going to be something special and boy oh boy was it something at Sasha and James' wedding. Barrels of cherries, wheels of fabulous cheese and in Travis's very own words "...wow babe, that's almost a whole table of parma ham " !! It was a feast for the belly as well as the eye.
All the guests were bused off to a little piece of heaven belonging to Sasha's family just outside Pretoria for the ceremony. It was an interesting ride and a beautiful ceremony. Then it was back on the bus headed for Kievits Kroon for the reception, where more great food, dancing and photo-booth madness was to come.

James was a little camera shy so we grabbed Sasha and ran into the bush. These pictures look as though we fussed over them for hours but we didn't. Sasha is a stunning women and with so much grace, the session was over in 3 shots. Nice!
They booked the best band we have ever seen at a wedding! Seriously these guys entertained us for hours, and even tought us how to do the "mash-potata" - propa! Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/lonehillestate
